Stowford Press combines century-old traditions with a flavour designed to appeal to more modern tastes.
Stowford Press began its life as one of our traditional cider blends, originally called ‘Vat 53’; the name of the oak vat that the liquid was matured in. It was over 30 years ago that the recipe was carefully crafted into a refreshing medium dry cider and today, Stowford Press is one of our best sellers.

In 1880 Henry Weston first started crafting cider from the bittersweet apples grown on his farm in Much Marcle, Herefordshire.
Over many years he refined the art of Herefordshire cider making. Today, Henry Weston Vintage Cider is crafted only from apples grown in a single year’s harvest in the three counties of Herefordshire, Gloucestershire & Worcestershire. The cider is then slowly matured, spending time in oak vats to deliver a smooth and rounded cider, with exceptional character.

The Original Cloudy Cider
Old Rosie is the name given to our 1921 Aveling and Porter steam roller, that still sits in our yard in Herefordshire. Strong, reliable and so loved by everyone in the Westons family, we named this cloudy cider in her honour. Light, crisp and dry, this truly old fashioned cloudy cider is slowly matured and left unfiltered.

Mortimer’s Orchard stands on Marcle Ridge, looking down on the remains of Mortimer’s castle built by the real Earl of Mortimer in the 11th century.
Many battles have taken place there over the years as the Mortimers fell in and out of favour with the Crown. These days rows of soldiers have been replaced with rows of apple trees, and finding a decent glass of cider is no longer a battle.

The Refreshing Cloudy Cider
Rosie’s Pig, was one of the first delivery trucks Westons Cider ever owned. ‘A pig to start, and a pig to drive’ was how the saying went. Rosie’s Pig still lives in our yard next to Old Rosie the steam roller… and is the name given to our refreshing, flavoured and easy drinking cloudy ciders.

Being the fifth generation of the Weston family line, Guy inherited a fine cider making heritage, which he uses to create contemporary and pioneering ciders. Try as he might, Guy can’t help but go against the grain, determined to challenge cider-lovers palates.
Great ciders are in his blood, and Caple Rd is no different. He demands the finest yeast and fresh bittersweet English apple juice to craft ciders we can all be proud of.His patience for a slow fermentation and up to 18 months maturation, is challenged with the anticipation to finally taste the complex, full-bodied cider!

In the organic orchards of the Wye Valley, nature is in charge. It has been ever since Westons set up home here in Much Marcle, way back in 1880.
When our harvest begins, we open the gates of our cider mill to tractors and trailers stuffed to the brim with juicy apples. The Wyld Wood fruit is grown in Soil Association certified organic orchards in local Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire. The ageing wood of the apple trees and absence of nasty pesticides means our organic orchards provide a safe haven for local wild life too. Once the apples are picked, washed and pressed, our fifth generation cider-maker blends them to create a full bodied and fruity cider, with a rich oak finish.
