Despite a bitterly cold wind, the sight of the sun plus a chance to see the County Air Ambulance helicopter drew the crowds to Westons Cider on Good Friday to enjoy the reopening of its Traditional & Rare Breeds Farm Park.
Annie Newell, fundraiser for the Strensham based County Air Ambulance officially opened the Farm Park at 11.00am with a speech, followed by the cutting of a ribbon to the entrance. Families were then able to look at and feed all the new animals including Long-horned Oxen, Kuni Kuni Pigs, Icelandic Sheep, Alpacas, Goats, Miniature Shetlands and lots more.
Heather Mead, Marketing Executive for Westons said: "The day couldn't have gone better. The sun came out and so did the crowds. The County Air Ambulance created lots of interest when its helicopter popped in during the morning. Visitors were able to meet the crew and have a look at the helicopter at close quarters."
Entry to the farm park was just £1 with all money going to the County Air Ambulance. In total £730 was raised on the day.
The Farm Park is now open until the end of September. With daily tours of the cider mill, a Children's Play Area, a Visitor Centre Shop, a Cellar Gift Shop, the Bottle Museum Tea Room, Henry Weston Courtyard Garden, a picnic area and the award winning Scrumpy House Restaurant, there is something for all the family to enjoy.
