Staff at Herefordshire Cider Makers, H Weston & Sons, were celebrating last night, (Thursday 21st July) after winning two prestigious awards, including overall “Business of the Year” and the category for “People Development”, at the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber Business Awards 2011.
Businesses from across Herefordshire and Worcestershire came together at Worcester Cathedral to celebrate the success and achievements of business throughout the two counties.
Westons were awarded “Business of the Year” at the end of the evening, after firstly winning the category for “People Development”.
In the category of “People Development”, the judges said they were looking for companies that put people at the top of their agenda and that Westons was outstanding because it was clear that their people development was part of the reason for their present success and future development.
The Overall Business of the Year was selected from all the category winners and judges were looking for a truly exceptional company that had shown significant growth and demonstrated excellence in all areas of the business and felt that Westons did this very successfully.
Helen Thomas, Managing Director of Westons said: "We have been in business for over 130 years and to build upon our present foundation it is really important that we develop and encourage our people. We are so proud to have won both these awards; it means a lot to us and we want to be around for many years to come!"
