Westons Organic Cider Goes Wyld

Westons Cider, has gone completely wild and given its popular Organic Cider range a brand new image and name.

The traditional premium cider, produced from fruit sourced in Herefordshire’s organic orchards, is now to be known by the name of ‘Westons Wyld Wood’, to better reflect its natural source and location in the rolling Herefordshire countryside surrounding the River Wye.

The new look Westons Wyld Wood range includes Westons Wyld Wood Classic Cider, (previously Premium Organic), Westons Wyld Wood Pear Cider (previously Premium Organic Pear) and Westons Wyld Wood Vintage Cider (previously Vintage Organic).

The re-design illustrates its origins and creates a sophisticated premium look. The new labels have a simple clean background with a natural-looking Wyld Wood logo and a very distinct and contemporary ‘W’ stand-out.

The re-launch will be supported by a national consumer advertising campaign and the Wyld Wood Classic will be additionally supported with an on-pack “Claim this bottle for free” promotion.

The high profile advertising will also target food lovers as Westons Wyld Wood is widely enjoyed with meals. Advertising will roll out from September through to Christmas 2011.

The national ‘Taste Challenge’ on-pack promotion, offering to refund the purchase price when the consumer writes in to say what they do or don’t like about the cider, will encourage trial for those who haven’t previously tasted the cider as well as rewarding loyal consumers.

There will also be product sampling at high profile national consumer shows.

Helen Thomas, Managing Director of Westons Cider, comments “Westons has produced organic cider for over 15 years and Wyld Wood is a brand that comes straight from the heart of our values. It illustrates our deep and on-going passion for good quality cider and our respect for nature and wildlife. We wanted to refresh the brand so consumers feel more connected with the simple, natural beauty of its origin.”

Westons Wyld Wood cider has a truly appley, fresh and full-bodied taste with a ripe aroma – a celebration of nature in a glass. The cider is delicious on its own as well as a tasty accompaniment with food.

Westons Cider’s organic orchards are sustainably managed to preserve and enhance nature until the apples and pears are ready for picking. The company nurtures its old orchards and has been planting new organic orchards, working with the Soil Association and the Wildlife Trusts.
