Westons Old Rosie cloudy Scrumpy cider has taken on a fresh new look for its spring 09 relaunch.  The label still retains the image of the 1921 Aveling Porter Steam Engine that the company bought in 1982 but it now has a much more striking presence.

"The changes have been evolutionary, not revolutionary, as it was important to maintain product recognition whilst updating the brand's appearance," said Roger Jackson, Westons Commercial Director.  "We are all having to work harder to get our products noticed on the bar in the current climate and the new look of Old Rosie does just that."

But whilst the brand has a fresh new appearance, the cider reassuringly remains the same high quality that was first launched back in 1988. A popular, traditional cider, Old Rosie is allowed to settle out naturally after fermentation resulting in a truly old fashioned, full flavoured, appley, cloudy Scrumpy, with a well balanced medium dry character.

To broaden the appeal of Old Rosie in the On Trade, the product is also being launched in a new lighter 500ml bottle.  Like the 330ml bottle in the same range, the 500ml bottle contains a lightly carbonated version of the popular cloudy Scrumpy cider for those drinkers who appreciate traditional ciders, but who prefer carbonated to still drinks.

Old Rosie is Westons lead traditional cider and is the first of the range to be rebranded.  1st Quality, Bounds Brand, Traditional Scrumpy and Country Perry will all follow in time for the summer cider festivals.
