Everything's Old Rosie as celebrity chef visits Westons Cider

Celebrity chef Marco Pierre White delighted staff and visitors alike last week when he dropped in to learn how cider was made at Westons Cider in Much Marcle.

Marco, who stocks Westons Old Rosie and Bounds ciders in his pubs and is a big fan of Westons Ciders, enjoyed his visit at the Much Marcle mill so much, he ended up staying for the entire afternoon.

Marco began his visit by meeting with Westons Managing Director Helen Thomas and Commercial Director Roger Jackson.

He was then taken on a personal tour of the mill by Oliver Hunter, one of the Visitor Centre’s team leaders. Oliver, who has known the Westons family since he was a young boy, was able to use his years of experience and knowledge to tell Marco all about Westons history and cider production.

Marco was very taken by Westons cider and heritage, saying “Without question Westons cider mill produces the greatest commercial cider in the world! My mother taught me as a young boy that a tree without roots is just a piece of wood. Westons has very long roots.”

Helen Thomas was delighted to have Marco at the mill “It was a great pleasure to have such a talented chef here at Westons. Marco showed a real passion for cider with food and was clearly genuinely interested in learning more about our ciders and our heritage.”

Award-winning Westons Cider has been producing traditional quality cider from its Much Marcle mill since 1880.
